Placement of the 1st FOB...
I was looking around the map when I was testing the load up. The carrier is placed to the SSW of Skalisty Island. Most of the southern coast was a mix of small towns and military bases without a factory in sight.
It looked like at least one good place would be on the east coast somewhere between Three Valleys and Nizhnoye. There are a couple of factories that are within easy reach from there. If I recall it correctly, there's a spot between Nizhnoye and Solichniy that might work quite well. Right by the water and easily defensible. The topography looks flat enough to build on. Easy road access both north and south. A couple of roads leading east from there, too.
The other alternative is to find a spot somewhere on the west side. The last place to look would be clear up along the north side. Not much in the way of bases up there, although there are a couple of airports. Not much in the way of resources either.
Sounds like we need to put a team together and check it out
Dark and I tried to set it up, but the FOB truck had an error, "reverting" to a normal box truck. Restarting the server with admin commands fixed it, though, so I had Hailscott fly it over for me and now it's set up.
We've been doing well thus far and already have the civilian resistance on our side, so mind what you shoot at. We've captured several GAZ Tigrs- I recycled all but two. We also captured a single BTR-60. Keeping that for now, even though its armament is a bit underwhelming. The three factories we own are fully upgraded, too, but I have them all producing Supplies right now, as that's the most immediately useful resource.

OK. I'll change the default parameter file to just be a container from now on. I had this vague notion that we would be able to drive to a viable location once it was airlifted over. Sounds like I broke some logic by doing so.
