Game Server Admin
Guidelines
It is generally more efficient that you use a player's
unique ID when banning or kicking him/her. Use either the person's STEAM ID or the player's
ArmA ID. Other games may have unique identifiers for
players. We will post those the need arises.
Be especially careful about kicking people for
cheating.
- Racist sprays, language, tags, etc. Warn
once, then ban. I have no humor where this stuff is concerned.
- Any examples of poor sportsmanship. This
includes things like whining about being owned, tying up the voice
comms after being asked to stop, swearing, etc. Warn twice, then ban.
- No porn sprays. Warn twice, then ban.
- If someone is AFK for more than a few
minutes, he is probably trying to hold his spot open or has connection
problems. Kick. Do NOT ban.
- Accidental TKs. Ignore.
- If there is a complaint about TKing,
evaluate the evidence. Is/are the witness(es) reliable? Has it
happened more than once? Was it deliberate? If so, do not warn the
offender. Ban.
- Periodically spot check unique IDs of players you don't know, especially ones with suspicious tags. These
people will sometimes wipe out their entire team right before
dropping. The only way to keep them off is to ban after the fact.
- Cheating. We define cheating as modifying
the client code or network connection between the client and server to
get an advantage that the game engine designer or mod designer did not
intend to grant. This includes things like speed/armor/health cheats,
wall hacks, glow in the dark models, etc. We take a very dim view
of cheating, and will ban if we have conclusive evidence. However, it
can be very tough to spot unless you are very experienced. When in
doubt, do not ban. Instead, report suspected cheating to me. I will
need unique ID, player nick, and exactly what you saw. Screenshots
and/or demos would be helpful. I will relay on to the other admins so
they can keep an eye on the player.
